JOB DESCRIPTION

The Riverwood Hotel is looking for dedicated Bar & Gaming Attendants to join our team. If you know the gaming floor inside out, can mix a great drink with the same level of precision, understand the importance of responsible gambling, and genuinely enjoy building rapport with regular guests, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a casual bar and gaming-focused position. Your primary responsibilities will include both the gaming floor and the bar, ensuring our guests receive attentive service in a safe, professional, and welcoming environment. You will work across our gaming lounge, main bar, and associated areas, with shifts varying from 10am through to 4am.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all bar and gaming guests.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to hotel standards.
  • Attend to service calls promptly and professionally.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including tab management and gaming payouts.
  • Monitor the gaming floor, including poker machines, TAB, and Keno.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of both the bar and gaming room throughout each shift.
  • Assist guests with gaming machine operations and respond to inquiries.
  • Restock bar supplies, manage glassware, and adhere to strict RSA standards at all times.
  • Adhere to all relevant gaming regulations and responsible gambling practices.
  • Report any incidents, malfunctions, or suspicious behaviour promptly.
  • Collaborate with the broader hotel team to ensure seamless operations.

REQUIREMENTS

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Current RSA and RCG certificates. These are essential.
  • ARCG qualification or willingness to complete.
  • Valid rights to work in Australia.
  • Flexibility and availability. You must be able to work a range of shifts varying from 10am through to 4am, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Exceptional communication skills. You can engage with guests professionally and genuinely.
  • Strong guest service focus. You understand that service standards are everything in both bar service and gaming.
  • Cash handling experience. You are accurate and trustworthy with financial transactions.
  • A team player mentality. You work efficiently in a collaborative environment.
  • A professional presentation. You take pride in your appearance and grooming.
  • Experience in a fast-paced bar environment is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of TAB and Keno operations will be highly regarded.
